Waste Water and Sewage
There is no excuse not to vote
Our fragile barrier island home, with its sensitive sounds and oceans makes the disposal of residential and commercial waste water an especially important issue. The town has been a leader in managing waste water systems on site. I have supported our on site program and I voted against the extension of sewer service outside the original boundaries of the Village at Nags Head.
As Mayor I will:
Support the Town's on going Septic Health Initiative
Work to expand water quality monitoring
Oppose the construction of any new package plants, and only consider the extension of centralized wastewater in sensitive environmental areas where the environmental benefits are significant
Continue to work to resolve the issues at Carolina Water's wastewater plant in the Village at Nags Head
Continue to oppose expansion of the Village wastewater district
